Wind Load Performance Estimator Disclaimer

The wind load performance of our fencing systems may vary due to installation conditions and site-specific factors; thus, we cannot guarantee performance. This estimator does not constitute professional engineering advice or certification. This tool is not intended to replace a site-specific analysis by a licensed professional engineer. It is the responsibility of the installer or project engineer to determine the suitability of the fence system for the intended site and to comply with local building codes, including the 2024 International Builders Code (IBC) – Section 1806. This estimator is provided for informational purposes only and is not a substitute for independent professional judgment. All inputs are provided by you, the user, and cannot be verified by Homeland. Homeland makes no representations or warranties regarding the output generated by this tool.

System performance is influenced by, but not limited to:

  • Compliance with manufacturer installation guidelines
  • Post embedment depth and installation quality
  • Soil conditions and bearing capacity
  • Local wind exposure and gust dynamics
  • Fence configuration and panel dimensions

Calculations are based on user selected soil lateral bearing pressure values and post structural integrity. Soil lateral bearing pressure selection options are taken from the IBC Presumptive Load-Bearing Values table 1806.2. Actual field conditions may differ, impacting system effectiveness. All results are only estimates and should not be relied upon as guarantees of performance under actual field conditions.

This estimator cannot accurately predict picket disengagement (blowout). Picket disengagement may occur at sustained wind speeds exceeding 74 mph. Improper installation or the use of pickets that are shorter than recommended may result in picket disengagement at lower wind speeds. Wind gusts may cause picket disengagement or other failures not predicted by this performance estimator.

By using this estimator app, you agree that Homeland shall not be liable for any damages, whether direct, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or otherwise, or losses of any kind arising from improper installation, unforeseen site conditions, failure to adhere to local regulations, industry installation practices, acts of God, or other causes related to use of this tool. This tool is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind.

User assumes all risks associated with use of this estimator, and installation and use of any fencing system. The company disclaims any liability for damages or losses resulting from improper installation or unforeseen site conditions. The extent of Homeland’s liability under any circumstances is exclusively described in our written, limited warranties available on our website. The written warranty constitutes the entire agreement between Homeland Vinyl and Purchaser with respect to warranty coverage. No oral or written statement, representation, or promise not contained therein shall be binding on Homeland.
